Along the coast, the walking paths stretch about 10 kilometres and here the environment is as varied as the rest of the peninsula. Sometimes the trail winds down on mountains-cliffs, sometimes along the harbour promenade through the village and sometimes you are met by a paved promenade that leads under the pine trees. To the east, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat borders the municipality of Beaulieu-sur-Mer and here our walk begins at the Promenade Maurice Rouvier.

We head south to the centre and Port-de-Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where the walking-path is filled with restaurants, shops and charming hotels. This was a former fishing village, and the charming, genuine atmosphere lives on and is combined with the majestic boats docked into the harbour.

Do not take the shortcut directly down to the beaches of Les Fossettes and Les Fosses, then you will miss the smaller peninsula of Saint-Hospice and the walk-path round Pointe Saint-Hospice. This is one of the most exclusive areas of ​​Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and here the grand villas are set apart on large plots. Here lies also the famous Paloma Beach, named after Pablo Picasso’s daughter, Paloma Picasso. After the walk-path of Pointe Saint-Hospice, the road continues along the eastern side down to the Grand-Hotel-du-Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons hotel which for a century has been an icon of luxury and glamour.

The magical sunset on the western side

As you pass the lighthouse to the south, you reach the west side of the peninsula. If you have a holiday home here, you can sit on the terrace and experience a spectacular sunset over the sea, Mont Boron, the charming community of Villefranche-sur-Mer and the coastline of Alpes Maritimes. Further along the path lies Plage de Passable, one of the cosiest beaches in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where you have a view of the bay and the port of Villefranche-sur-Mer, enjoy a well-cooked meal from the beach restaurant and rent a sunbed from the private-beach. 

To the north lies Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. A palace built by Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild in 1905, located on the highest point of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat with a majestic view of the sea.
